{"id":802,"date":"2020-03-12T15:49:57","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T22:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cpecschool.org\/?p=802"},"modified":"2020-03-12T15:50:05","modified_gmt":"2020-03-12T22:50:05","slug":"coronavirus-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cpecschool.org\/?p=802","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CORONAVIRUS UPDATE <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">March\n12, 2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear\nParents, Guardians and Students, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clear\nPassage Educational Center (CPEC) continues to monitor the local, state and\nnational status of the new coronavirus. In the interim, we are also taking the following\nprecautionary steps to promote a safe school environment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All \u201chigh touch\u201d areas in school that\ncould contribute to the spread of illness will be sanitized daily.&nbsp; <\/li><li>Restrooms will be monitored daily to\nensure that sufficient soap and hand towels are available for students and\nstaff to wash their hands frequently. CPEC is working toward securing\nadditional supplies of hand sanitizer that will be made available in high\ntraffic areas like restrooms, the main office and the computer lab.&nbsp;It\nshould be noted that while the use of hand sanitizer also is recommended,\nfrequent hand washing with soap and water is more effective in preventing the\nspread of the coronavirus.<\/li><li>Information related to recommended\nprecautions will be posted in the school office, computer lab and on CPEC\u2019s\nwebsite.<\/li><li>As a reminder, if your child has a\nfever, he\/she must be fever-free 24 hours before returning to CPEC\u2019s campus to use\nthe school\u2019s computer lab.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>*Please\nnote that students should continue to complete course assignments at home when\nnot on campus.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nfollowing are recommendations for staff, students and families to help prevent\nthe spread of coronavirus and other infectious diseases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Stay home when ill.&nbsp;This\nincludes symptoms such as fever, cough\/difficulty breathing and\/or intestinal\nproblems.&nbsp;Stay home at least 24 hours after you are fever free.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Frequently wash hands for at least\n20 seconds with soap and water.&nbsp; If soap and water are not readily\navailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent\nalcohol.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Cough\/sneeze into your sleeve\n(elbow)&nbsp;or a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash&nbsp;and wash your\nhands.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Clean and disinfect frequently\ntouched objects and surfaces such as door handles.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Avoid touching your eyes,\nnose&nbsp;and mouth.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enclosed is a flyer that provides additional information about the coronavirus and safety tips.
